Gateway Church of Southlake, Texas launched their first Pink Impact weekend in 2006. “. . . Pink Impact has been a gathering place for women from all over the nation who come together to have an encounter with God, connect with other women and have a lot of fun along the way.”
Last year was my first experience attending Pink. I have family who live in Texas and attend Gateway. So, my mom, sister, aunt and I flew out to join my other two aunts and cousin for a “girls weekend”. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect.
I should have known, having visited Gateway once before, that it was going to be an AMAZING weekend! Every.single.speaker had my undivided attention! I sat on the edge of my seat the whole weekend. Of course the worship moved me to tears each time Kari Jobe graced the stage. Last year’s theme was “Light” – and that theme was perfectly captured in every facet of the weekend. The stage décor alone was phenomenal! I mean who doesn’t love a GIANT chandelier? And as a parting gift we were each presented with a necklace stating the word, ‘light’, as a reminder for each of us to go out and be His light in the world.
Since 2006, the attendance for Pink Impact has grown exponentially. Last year the conference was held on two separate weekends and at several locations, simulcasted from Southlake. This year they decided to gather everyone together at one place for one weekend – the Fort Worth Convention Center. The convention center seats over 13,000 – that proves just how much this conference has grown! Wow!! What an impact (pun intended)!
This year’s featured guests are; Debbie Morris, Kari Jobe (yay!!), Priscilla Shirer (‘War Room’, anyone?), Christine Caine (I am SO EXCITED to hear her), Robert Morris (Gateway Church Founder/Senior Pastor), Charlotte Gambill, Blydna Lane (AHHHHmazing speaker), Elaine Fisher, Nicole Mullen, Michael Jr., Joni Lamb, Amena Brown, Rita Singer, Gateway Worship and Dance Revolution (soooo good)!!
To say I am excited is a complete understatement! So looking forward to tomorrow!! (Just realized tomorrow is Friday the 13th, hmmmm….).
